Judgement - Kevin Truelson

When you stare out the window what do you see? Do you see the boy on the bench? The one in the distance, with the backwards hat. The one by himself, twiddling his thumbs. The lonely one with the untied shoes. Look at his face, what do you see?

Do you see the hurt, the pain, and the misfortune? Do you see his black, Peppermint clothing t-shirt and ripped Old Navy jeans? The grizzly beard, the scarred lip, and scraggly hair? Do you see a punk or a loser? An uneducated man? We’ve all seen him, we’ve all judged him. You lock your door when you see him and look the other way. You would never shake that man’s hand.

Now look down the street and what do you see? Do you see the man in the gray pinstriped suit? The flashy shoes and even flashier smile, smooth silk tie and collared shirt. The innocent baby face and not one hair out of place.
The man you’d want your daughter to date. You’ve seen him, you’d trust him and you’d never think twice.

Now look through the glass and what do you see? Do see the boy with the black and blue skates? The one with the hair all out of place? Come on he’s wearing all the emotions on his face. The one you cheer for with all your might, he’s the one that plays hard every night. Can you see through the helmet’s glare? Look at his face…..and you start to see all three. I know it’s tough to see, but that boy, he is me.

My own randomness makes me laugh…milk would be a bad person to take to the bar, because when he gets bad you’ve got to throw him out…I’ve had many different hairdo’s in my life, and a couple of hair don’t’s…when someone says “Take my advice” I wonder where?… right now my skin and string cheeses are very similar, you can pull and peel both…sometimes at work I just pretend…still waiting on Jessica Alba… miami vice is almost here…I feel like I do my best and worst thinking in the shower…I just realized that I pay to ride a bike that goes nowhere and weights that I don’t get to keep…koko is stealing my thunder…the door says pull but I still push…looking busy is stressful…weird how I’m still single…I think about the years I spent just passing
through.
