The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Club brings many benefits to our area. Some of these are tangible, economic boosts to our community. Others are intangible, in the form of recognition, both regionally and nationwide. The economic theory that outside money turns over seven times in the community and local money turns over four times is used on this impact statement. CONDORS PLAYERS must take residence in Bakersfield during the seven
months of the hockey season. A CONDOR will spend approximately $2,000
monthly. This conservative figure does not include players' wives
or family or those who visit from out of town. Each player will
spend approximately $14,000 during the season. Twenty-two players
plus an equipment manager, and trainer will spend $336,000. VISITING TEAMS in Bakersfield spend over $25,000 in hotel rental
plus another $30,000 in food costs. These teams will also spend
another $10,000 in purchasing goods and services in the community.

on lodging, meals, and entertainment while in Bakersfield. VISITING HOCKEY PERSONNEL, including the league office and other
league teams as well as scouts and officials are constantly coming
to Bakersfield. They use hotels, restaurants and transportation

spend most of their salaries in Bakersfield. The CONDORS have 20

$35.00 per person. This is a total of approximately $420,000. The BAKERSFIELD CONDORS operation will spend approximately $1,250,000
in the community. This includes transportation, supplies, advertising,
printing, utilities, merchandise, medical equipment, promotional
expenses, taxes and numerous other expenditures. The Bakersfield Condors also expect over 20,000 CONDORS FANS to attend Rabobank Arena this year from a distance in excess of 20 miles from the arena. These people are also spending money on gas and food, and many times hotels.
