Raymond, who turns 43 on Oct. 2, has been with the Condors organization since February 2002, when he was brought on as the team's associate coach. On Feb. 26, 2004, he replaced Paul Kelly and became the fourth head coach in team history. Raymond was given a two-year extension on his contract in May and will remain Bakersfield's head coach through the 2009-10 season.

Last season, Raymond led the Condors to a 41-19-12 record, tied for the third most points in the ECHL. Bakersfield set several single-season franchise records in 2006-07: most points overall (94), most road points (49), highest winning percentage overall (.653), highest road winning percentage (.681), most road wins (20) and tying the mark for most wins overall (41). Bakersfield also posted the fewest overall regulation losses (19) and fewest road regulation losses (seven) in team history, while also setting records for longest overall unbeaten streak (12) and longest road unbeaten streak (11). The Condors tied the mark for their longest road winning streak (seven) and advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the second straight season.

Bakersfield came back from an 0-2 deficit in the National Conference Quarterfinals beating Fresno four straight times to win the series before getting knocked out by Alaska in the conference semifinals.

On Nov. 18, 2006 Raymond notched his 93rd win, surpassing Paul Kelly as Bakersfield's all-time winningest coach. He accomplished the feat having coached just 173 games, then the fewest in franchise history. Entering 2007-08 Raymond's overall record is 127-76-30, owning the best winning percentage in Bakersfield history (.609), posting the fewest losses all-time (76) and earning the most playoff wins (13). He's also led the Condors to three straight 40-win seasons, three straight postseason appearances and back-to-back series wins in the opening round of the playoffs.

In 2005-06, Raymond guided Bakersfield to a 40-26-6 record and the team's first home-ice advantage since the 1999-2000 postseason. The Condors advanced to the second round for the first time in club history after knocking off the Long Beach Ice Dogs in Game 7 of the Pacific Division Semifinals. He also led the team to a second seven-game series, as the Condors took on the Fresno Falcons in the Pacific Division finals, becoming the first ECHL team to participate in two seven-game playoff series in the same season.

From the moment he came on board, Raymond had an impact. In 2002, he assisted a struggling Condors team to one of the best stretches of hockey Bakersfield has seen, as they closed the 2001-02 season with a 10-1-1 mark in their last 12 games.

The Condors are the third professional team on Raymond's head coaching resume in North America. He also stood at the helm of the Tucson Gila Monsters and Phoenix Mustangs of the West Coach Hockey League, winning a Taylor Cup Championship with Phoenix in 2000. Raymond took the reins for a struggling Mustangs squad during the middle of the 1999-00 campaign. Well below .500 prior to his arrival, they finished the year 22-5-1 in their final 28 games, including 10-2 in the postseason and a four-game (best-of-five) elimination of the Condors on their way to the title.

His first mark upon the Condors organization came earlier that season, when he was brought in as an advisor and scout during Bakersfield's training camp.

Raymond also has two years of head coaching experience in Europe, as he led the Division II Cergy-Pontoise in France to a record of 41-19-6 between 1995-97, winning a Second Division Championship and qualifying for the First Division. He also coached the French Women's National team, compiling a 54-0-5 record through two seasons and winning two Women's European Championships.

Playing Career: Raymond has extensive European experience, with two seasons in the Swedish 1st division, and three seasons with Bjorklinge in the Swedish Elite League. He also spent two campaigns with Cergy in France. He played collegiate hockey at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and also spent two years as a player-coach with the Las Vegas Aces of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. He attended training camp with the NHL's Winnipeg Jets in 1986. He earned a bachelor's degree in communication from UW-RF.

Originally from Drummondville, Quebec, Raymond currently resides in Bakersfield with his wife Jessica, who's due to give birth in the winter. His son Shane lives in Las Vegas.
