9th Annual Teddy Bear Toss This Saturday

Fans Encouraged to Bring Stuffed Animals to Toss Onto Ice

This Week in Condorstown:

Tuesday, Nov. 20: Mascot Colonel Claw'd will join 106.1 KRAB radio as they broadcast from the Fastrip Food Store located at 4901 S Union Avenue from noon to 1 p.m. Tune in and stop by for a chance to win prizes and giveaways.

Friday, Nov. 23: Player TBD will be live on KGET TV-17 at 5:50 a.m. to chat about the upcoming 9th annual Teddy Bear Toss during the game against Phoenix Saturday night.

Saturday, Nov. 24: The Condors will take on the Phoenix RoadRunners for the 9th annual Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by KGET TV-17, KERN 1410 and Wells Fargo Bank. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to be thrown onto the ice after the Condors score their first goal. Stuffed animals will be collected and distributed by the United Way of Kern County. Saturday is also a Big Buddies night, local underprivileged youth will be given the opportunity to attend a Condors game for free thanks to local organizations. If you would like to purchase some tickets to donate to underprivileged kids, please contact us at 324-PUCK (7825). Doors open at 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Week In Review:

Tuesday, Nov. 13: Mascot Baby Cal and front office staff member Brian Marsh visited the Westbrook Children's Center. Marsh and Cal educated the kids about hockey, discussed the importance of sports safety and even dressed several children in hockey gear.

Thursday, Nov. 15: Player Mike Hofstrand was a guest speaker at the Bakersfield Marketing Symposium. Balan spoke on growing up playing hockey, the Condors season thus far and team's goals and challenges. Mascot Colonel Claw'd was also present to meet-and-greet the attendees.

Thursday, Nov. 15: Condors players Jaime Hodson, Evan Kotsopoulos, Josh Sciba, Eric Sonnenberg and Tim Konsorada read to children at Eissler Elementary School. Mascot Baby Cal was also in attendance to sit with the students and listen to the stories being read.

Friday, Nov. 16: Mascot Colonel Claw'd was present at the Juvenile Court House for National Adoption Day. The Colonel celebrated with 45 families after their adoptions became legal.

Saturday, Nov. 17: Mascot Baby Cal attended the Kern County Special Olympics at the Kern County Fair Grounds giving support to the participants in the floor hockey game. Baby Cal cheered on contestants and gave out plenty of hugs and high-fives during the event. Mark Your Calendars

Wednesday, Nov. 28: Mascot Colonel Claw'd will be present at Independence Elementary School from 1 to 2 p.m. at the school's choir assembly. During the ceremony Community Relations Manager Brian Marsh will present a check to the Independence Elementary School Choir for their fundraising efforts.

Thursday, Nov. 29: Mascot Colonel Claw'd will be present at American Elementary School from 1 to 2 p.m. at the school's choir assembly. During the ceremony Community Relations Manager Brian Marsh will present a check to the American Elementary School Choir for their fundraising efforts.

Friday, Nov. 30: Player (TBD) will read to students at Reagan Elementary School, located at 10800 Rosslyn Lane. Mascot Baby Cal will also be on hand to sit with the students and listen to the stories being read.
