Veggie Tales and Jersey Auction for Children's Miracle Network this Weekend

Condors to visit Valley and San Lauren Elementary Schools, AltaOne and UPS

This Week in Condorstown:

Monday, Feb. 4: Turn your dial to La Caliente 96.9 at 4 p.m., to listen to Community Relations Manager Brian Marsh as he talks about everything Condors related and the Help For The Homeless Canned Food Collection on Tuesday.

Monday, Feb. 4: Ladies Night is back in Condorstown. Participants in this sold out event will receive a tour of the Condors locker room, players' bench and rink as well as enjoy a catered dinner at Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill where they will receive a course in hockey 101 and take part in a Q & A session with the players. Everyone will also receive a commemorative Ladies Night t-shirt, thanks in part to Kenyon Enterprise, take part in a raffle for great Condors gear and will be able to watch the Condors game the following night from the Budweiser 5-Hole Suite on the glass.

Tuesday, Feb. 5: The Bakersfield Condors host the Victoria Salmon Kings for the My 45 and 96.9 La Caliente Help For The Homeless Canned Food Collection. Donate two or more non-perishable food items and receive $1.00 terrace admission to Tuesday's game and Mardi Gras beads. The canned food drive spans the Condors 10- year history and has brought in more than 10,000 cans of food. The canned food will be donated to various food banks by the Boy Scouts of America. Doors open at 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 6: Condors Community Relations Manager Brian Marsh will attend the San Lauren School Career Day, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., at 5210 Victor Street. Marsh will meet youngsters who are interested in a career in sports management, answer student questions and hand out Condors gear to young fans.

Thursday, Feb. 7: Condors players Todd Griffith, Reagan Leslie, Jason Goulet and Chris Di Ubaldo will visit Valley Elementary School, located at 2300 East Brundage Lane from 1 to 3 p.m. The Condors players will read stories to the children and will have the privilege of having the United States and Canadian national anthems performed for them by the students.

Thursday, Feb. 7: The Condors Coach's Show will air live from the Holiday Inn Select from 6 to 7 p.m. You can catch Head Coach Marty Raymond and F Evan Kotsopoulos, along with the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl on the All-New KGEO AM1230.

Friday, Feb. 8: Turn your dial to KRAB 106.1 to hear "the Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl discuss the upcoming games this weekend with Rocky and Meathead at 6:30 a.m.

Friday, Feb. 8: Mascot Colonel Claw'd will stop by the UPS station, located at 3800 N. Sillect Avenue from 8 to 9 a.m., to mingle with UPS workers in anticipation for the UPS group night with the Condors. If your business or organization would like to have a group outing to a Condors game and have a mascot or player visit before hand, please contact the Condors front office at 324-PUCK (7825).

Friday, Feb. 8:  the Condors match up again with the Salmon Kings, with the Veggie Tales and Christian Rock Concert, presented by KERI 1180am, Barber Honda and Island Style. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber from Veggie Tales will be here to meet the fans and pose for photos in the Condors Photo Booth. Fans can check out Christian recording artist Wavorly, along with other bands performing during the Condors game as well as on the Rabobank Arena plaza beginning at 5 p.m. and after the game as well. Doors open at 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 9: Mascot Colonel Claw'd will be dancing and greeting people at the Grand Opening of AltaOne Federal Credit Union, located at 6501 Ming Avenue from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Fans of all ages are invited to take a picture and get an autograph from the Colonel, as well as enter to win raffle prizes and even win a dream vacation.

Saturday, Feb. 9:  the Condors will hold the Hollywood Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle & Auction sponsored by 96-5 KBKO, American Business Machines and Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. During the intermissions and following the game, the Hollywood-style game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off, with all proceeds benefiting the Children's Miracle Network. Also, everyone in attendance will have the chance to win one of five to be given away! Doors open at 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Mark Your Calendars:

Monday, Feb. 11: Condors F Jason Kostadine will visit the Sylvan Learning Centers at 2720 Calloway Drive at 3:30 p.m., then at 5115 Ming Avenue at 4:00 p.m. Kostadine will sign autographs and encourage students to continue to study and try their best in school.

Wednesday, Feb. 13: Turn to channel 29, at noon, to catch Condors F Mark Derlago as he speaks about the Condors second half of the season and the Condors Student Journalist program.

Friday, Feb. 15: Player (TBD) and mascot Colonel Claw'd will attend Centennial Elementary School, located at 15200 Westdale Drive from 11:30 to 12:10 p.m. to visit with students, sign autographs and encourage the students to always try their best in school.
