Condors poised to run the table in "Greatest Thing About
Bakersfield"
Bakersfield Life Magazine has recently announced the "64 Greatest Things About
Bakersfield" tournament. This 64-seed reader poll pits
Bakersfield's favorite people, places and things in a single elimination, six-round bracket tournament to establish the greatest thing about
Bakersfield. In the first round, Condors Hockey is matched up against the Beale Library. Click here to vote for Condors Hockey and your other favorite things about
Bakersfield. The first round of voting ends August 3 and those that make it to the second round will be announced in the August edition of Bakersfield Life.

Tuesday, July 22: Condors mascot Baby Cal will visit
McAuliffe
Elementary School for their summer program located at
8900 Westwold Drive, starting at 1:30 p.m. The Condors will be on hand to inform the kids about hockey and demonstrate the importance of sports safety by dressing students in hockey gear.

Tuesday, July 29: Condors mascot Baby Cal will be at Williams Elementary School for their summer program located at
5601 Harris Road, starting at 1:30 p.m. The students will learn about safety, get to try on protective hockey gear and play different games with
Baby
Cal.
Thursday, July 31: The Condors will travel to Frazier Park with Goodwill Industries for the next Condors Care-A-Van. This road trip will be the third Care-A-Van of the summer and features Condors D Scott Balan, mascot
Baby
Cal, games and prizes. The Care-A-Van will visit Ace Hardware (
3320 Mt Pinos Way) from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by a trip to
Camp
Condor from 2 to 4 p.m. The Care-A-Van is designed to bring Condors hockey and Goodwill's mission to the outlying communities of
Kern
County and collect donations in the process. Those that donate gently used clothing and other goods will receive a voucher for free admission to a Condors game in October.
Friday, Aug. 1: Condors D Tyler Scott will be on hand at the
Delano
Regional
Medical
Center's clothing and canned food drive. Scott will be encouraging community members to donate goods to the drive as well as signing autographs and posing for pictures from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The
Delano
Regional
Medical
Center is located at
1401 Garces Hwy.
Saturday, Aug. 2: The Condors Care-A- Van will hit the road again, this time traversing the desert to attend the inaugural Sportsfest in
Ridgecrest. Sports enthusiasts can learn to shoot from a Condors player in the Condors Slapshot, while kids can play in the Condors bounce house, meet Condors mascot
Baby
Cal and win Condors gear. Additionally, anyone that donates items for Goodwill at the Care-A-Van will receive a voucher for free admission to a Condors game in October.
Saturday, Aug. 2: Condors F
Sean Venedam will attend a Carl's Jr. remodeling celebration at 4800 White Lane from noon to 1 p.m. Venedam will meet and greet fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. We dare you to challenge him to a $6 Burger eating competition.
