Condors Mike Hofstrand speaks to youth fitness program this Wednesday

Condors Care-A-Van to Taft on July 16

This Week In Condorstown:

Wednesday, July 9: Condors F Mike Hofstrand will be speaking at Total Women's Fitness to a group of youth from the Fit Kids Summer Program, located at 9815 Hageman Road at 1:30 p.m. Hofstrand will be speaking on the importance of physical activity and healthy eating while instilling confidence and motivation in the youngsters.

Wednesday, July 9: Members of the Condors front office staff will be attending the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's July Mixer at Wells Fargo Bank, located at 1300 22nd Street, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Members and non-members are invited to attend the chamber mixer for social and networking opportunities.

Thursday, July 10: A Condors player and members of the Condors communications department will attend the Kern Press Club's "Picnic in the Park" at Beale Park starting at 6 p.m. The picnic serves as a forum for journalists, educators and public relations professionals to socialize.

Mark Your Calendars:

Tuesday, July 15: Condors mascot Baby Cal along with a member of the Condors front office, will be at the Berkshire Elementary Summer School program, starting at 1:30 p.m. The students will learn about safety, get to try on protective hockey gear and play different games with Baby Cal.

Care-A-Van Update:

Wednesday, July 16:
The next Condors Care-A-Van will visit Taft, stopping at the Pizza Factory and Indoors Sports Camp on Wednesday. The Condors will be at the Pizza Factory, located at 614 Center Street from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Fans are welcome to swing by for lunch, meet and get autographs from a Condors player and donate new or gently used clothing and other goods to Goodwill. Those that donate items at the Care-A-Van will receive a voucher for free admission to a Condors game in October.

Afterwards, the Care-A-Van will move to the Westside Parks and Recreation Indoors Sports Camp at 500 Cascade Place in Taft from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Youth and adults can learn to shoot from a Condors player in the Condors Inflatable Slapshot, while kids can play in the Condors bounce house, meet Condors mascot Baby Cal and win Condors gear.

The Ridgecrest Care-A-Van, in which the Condors will headline the inaugural Sportsfest, has been changed from July 12 to August 2. Additional Condors Care-A-Vans to other Kern County cities are still in the planning stages; if you know of a service-oriented organization or any community events that the Condors Care-A-Van can join, please contact the Condors Community Relations Department at 324- PUCK (7825).
