Condors Front Office to participate in Adopt-A-Highway

This Week in Condorstown:
Tuesday, June 23:
Condors mascot Baby Cal will visit Stockdale Christian Summer Day Camp, located at 4901 California Ave at 9 a.m.  After having defeated more than 60 kids in musical chairs at the Silver Creek Day Camp (click here for video) Cal will defend his title against the Stockdale Christian day campers.  He will also sign autographs and give out Condors prizes to the youngsters.

Wednesday, June 24:
Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd will appear as the featured reader at the Family Story Time hour at the Northeast Library branch, located at 3725 Columbus St. at 10:30 a.m.  The Colonel will act out scenes from a children's book as the story was read aloud.  The Condors will also bring Condors merchandise for all the children in attendance.  All summer long kids who take part in the summer reading program can earn free Condors tickets, click here to find out how.

Thursday, June 25:

The Condors will be receiving an award of recognition from the
Active 20/30 Club at the Boys & Girls Club located at 801 Niles St. starting at 6 p.m.  Along with other organizations, the dinner will recognize the Condors for raising $9,984 for the Active 20/30 Club, through the Condors season-worn jersey auction and the Condors participation in the Festival of Beers.

Friday, June 26:
Members of the Condors Front Office Staff alongside
Colonel Claw'd will pitch in to keep Bakersfield beautiful, as they clean Ming Avenue from Old River Road to Gosford Road, starting at 11:30 a.m. as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.

Week In Review:
A busy week for the Condors began last Monday at the Wilson Library branch with the first of five Condors appearances as featured readers for Family Story Time at Kern County libraries. On Tuesday the first Condors Care-A-Van of summer headed up the hill to Tehachapi where Condors Legend Jamie Cooke ran a free roller hockey clinic while Goodwill Industries collected donations. Click here for the video.  On Thursday the Condors set up shop at the final Downtown Street Faire of the summer with the prize wheel, inflatable slapshot, Condors gear and Baby Cal in tow.  Click here for the street faire video.  Finally, on Saturday members of Condors Front Office staff got down and dirty in the 17th Annual Kern County Epilepsy Societies' Mud Volleyball Tournament.  The Condors team finished the day placing in the top 25 of the tournament which featured 99 teams.

Condors Booster Club fireworks stand:
Stop by the Condors Booster Club's fireworks stand, located at 3707 Coffee Road near the Coffee Rd. and Riverlakes Dr. intersection, to purchase your fireworks for the 4th and to help the booster club raise funds.  The fireworks stand will be open from July 1 - July 4.

Condors Care-A-Van could be coming to your town:
Summertime in Condorstown can only mean one thing, Condors Care-A-Vans!  Plans are still being drawn to visit Kern communities outside of Bakersfield.  If you would like the Condors Care-A-Van to visit your town or would like to host a Care-A-Van stop at your business, call the Condors Community Relations Department at 324-PUCK (7825).
