I witnessed the kicking incident that occurred during game 5 by Salmon Kings Ryan Wade #20. It was my understanding that we asked for a review on this incident. I sent an email to the ECHL to let them know I was not happy they didn't act sooner (it would have helped in game 6). Here is my email to them:
On Saturday April 19, 2008
Bakersfield Condors played Victoria Salmon Kings in game 5 of the first round for the Kelly Cup.
Victoria #20 Ryan Wade found himself on his back behind our goal tender and kicked one of our players from the ice; I saw it happen. Our team sent in a review request about this and as of today I am unaware if the ECHL has done anything about this. You certainly didn't do anything soon enough to help us in game 6 where Wade made the game tying goal sending us into overtime where we lost the series. Does the ECHL take these things seriously or not? Obviously you don'' take it seriously enough to act immediately about it. Maybe this sport isn't governed well enough to bring my family to see it. If you care to respond you now have my email.
Although Bryan Lewis ECHL Director of Officiating did respond, he didn't offer any details to the particular play. Please let me know what the resolution is to this incident.
