Xtreme Memory:
From Steve Robinson,
Who is the 2 millionth fan? Sawyer Robinson is. And he is a 9 year old boy who has been a Condors fan since the age of 1 when I began taking him to Condors games. My aunt had season tickets and gave us two of their seats for almost every home game. Sawyer was hooked and became obsessed with Condors and with hockey in general. One of his favorite things to do is turn out all the lights in the house and put on his foam Condors goalie mask while grabbing his Condors hockey stick. I would then play the opening music for the Condors introduction and announce Sawyer's name as a part of the starting line-up. He would then skate on the carpet out of the hallway and into the living room as I used two flashlights as make-shift spotlights. What is perhaps most interesting is the fact that Sawyer is not alone in this Condors obsession. We have found that most children who attend Condors games on a regular basis have also exhibited similar antics. Therefore, Sawyer is not 1 in 2 million, but 1 of thousands of
Bakersfield children who consider themselves natives of Condorstown.
