Danny Reja adding a personal touch
Feb 23, 2008
From Matt Banerdt,
One of my favorite moments in Condors hockey history happened in the 1998-99 campaign, and it was the last game of the season. My family and I were going to
San Diego because we had a playoff game against the hated Gulls the next day, but my brothers and sisters and I all wanted to get autographs. We waited and waited and we were the very last in line and Danny Reja was one of the players at the booth. At the very end when he got to us he heard that we were on our way to San Diego and he asked our parents if they could wait a little longer while he took my 4 brothers and sisters and I to the locker room to get us each a gift. We walked down there and Jamie Cooke passed us with 2 of his kids, and Danny made a joke saying haha, "Jamie look who has all the kids now." I thought that was funny. When we got to the actual locker room we couldn't go in because there were still guys in there changing so he went in and brought out 2 hockey sticks. It was such an amazing experience that he appreciated our loyalty as fans and went out of his way to show it. I will never forget Danny going out of his way to show his personal appreciation for us Condors fans. Goooo Condors!!!!!
