Condors Crush Falcons, 8-1

Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors erupted for a season-high eight goals en route to handing the Fresno Falcons an 8-1 defeat in front of 6,381 fans at

The Condors and Falcons battled through the first period of play to a scoreless tie. Yutaka Fukufuji got the nod in net for
Bakersfield, and stopped six shots in the opening frame. Jake Moreland made 10 saves in net for
Fresno. Five power plays were handed out in the first.
Bakersfield (5-10-3, 13 points) took the lead early in the second period with Tim Konsorada's power play tally at 4:16. It started a series of three goals for the Condors over a four-and-a-half minute span. Kevin Truelson, the trailer on a 3-on-2, buried his fourth of the season, shorthanded at 7:31. Todd Griffith then lit the lamp for the first time this season at 8:47. Penalties piled up in the stanza as well, with 13 penalties handed out, and it stayed 3-0 heading into the third.
The Falcons (6-6-3, 15 points) fans were not denied on their Teddy Bear Toss Night, as Igor Gongalsky punched in his fifth of the season at 4:57 in the third to put Fresno on the board.
Bakersfield was undaunted, however, and responded with a five goal explosion in the final period. Sean Venedam, Spencer Carbery, Griffith (his second of the game), Andrew Ianiero and Konsorada (his second of the game as well) helped the Condors reach a season high with eight tallies in the game. Evan Kotsopoulos had three assists in the period for the Condors. Fukufuji finished the night with 27 saves for his fourth victory of the season.

Notes: LW Evan Kotsopoulos was activated from the 3-day IR today, and played for the first time since November 18. 12 different players recorded a point for the Condors, and five different players had multiple points in the game.
The Condors return home to host the Falcons on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. The first 2,000 fans 12 and under will receive a free Condors replica goalie mask, courtesy of ABC23 and 106.1 KRAB radio. Also, two fans will go home with a free 42" plasma TV, thanks to Pearsey's Rentals. Fans must be 18 or older to win the televisions. In addition, Captain Jack Sparrow, from the Pirates of the
Caribbean trilogy will be in attendance to meet fans and pose for pictures.
