Condors Score Three in Third, but Come up Just Short, Victoria Wins 7-4
Third Consecutive Game in Victoria Saturday at 7 p.m.
VICTORIA, BC. - The Condors lost to the Victoria Salmon Kings Friday night, 7-4, in front of 3,757 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia. Despite a good late effort from the Condors in an eight-goal third period, Victoria was able to weather the late run and pick up their fourth win of the year.
The Salmon Kings (4-2-0, 8 points) struck first with a power-play goal from Ash Goldie at the 8:50 mark of the first period, assisted by Jordan Krestanovich and Ryan Wade.
The Condors (3-3-1, 7 points) responded on the penalty kill, as Andrew Ianiero received a great clearing pass from Tamas Lencses, setting up a break away opportunity that Ianiero capitalized on with a short-handed goal, tying the game at 1-1 at the 14:49 mark of the first.
Wes Goldie then put in a power-play goal of his own at the 10:43 mark of the second period, putting the Salmon Kings back in the lead, 2-1.
After Victoria netted two goals and led 4-1, Tim Konsorada put in his third goal of the year on a power- play, assisted by Mark Derlago and Joe Dustin, at the 9:29 mark of the third. Wes Goldie and Kevin Estrada then put in back-to-back goals, making the score 6-2.
The Condors tried to claw their way back into the game with consecutive goals coming from Justin Chwedoruk and Spencer Carbery late in the third, but ended up dropping the game 7-4 to the Salmon Kings.

Notes: Kevin Truelson enters action tonight tied for the league lead among defensemen with three goals. Steven Later played his 100th professional hockey game Wednesday, but did not suit up for Friday's game. Tamas Lencses made his pro debut Wednesday after playing nine years in Hungary. The Condors and Salmon Kings square off for the third consecutive time here at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
