Condors complete Victoria sweep, 4-2
Bakersfield heads to Ontario on Sunday at 5 p.m.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- The Bakersfield Condors (30-18-4-1, 65pts) defeated the Victoria Salmon Kings (30-21-4-2, 66pts) 4-2 to complete the two-game sweep this weekend in front of 5,568 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night . G J.P Levasseur stopped 36 of 38 shots for his second win in two games with the Condors.

The Condors took a 1-0 lead 6:18 into the first period. RW Jason Dale jammed home a loose puck in the crease for his third of the season and first in a Condors uniform. F Randall Gelech tied the score at one on a power play tally with 5:15 remaining in the first period. The score and shots (8-8) were even after 20 minutes.
F Stephane Goulet notched his 20th of the season on a nifty backhand move in front of the net at the 6:00 minute mark of the middle frame for a 2-1 Condors lead. And then with 5:05 remaining in the period, F Mathieu Aubin converted a perfect feed from C Adam Naghlich for a 3-1 advantage. Despite being out-shot 15-10 in the period, Bakersfield went into the third period up by two.
Victoria put the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats when RW Wes Goldie scored his league-leading 38th goal of the season, 3:56 into the third period to cut the lead to one. Bakersfield held off a flurry of chances before RW Ryan Menei added an insurance goal with 1:35 left in the game to put it out of reach. Victoria out-shot Bakersfield 38-27, but could not put another puck past Levasseur.

The Condors head south to Ontario on Sunday for a 5 p.m. showdown with the Reign. Next week the team heads to Idaho for a three-game series on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
