BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (29-18-4-1, 63pts) held back a furious rally by the Victoria Salmon Kings (30-20-4-2, 66pts) and picked up a thrilling 3-2 victory in front of 5,038 fans at Rabobank Arena Friday night. The Condors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the early minutes of the game. Goulet and RW Ryan Menei scored just 39 seconds apart, at 5:00 and 5:39, to take the advantage. F Andrew Ianiero assisted on both tallies. Levasseur stopped all nine first period Victoria shots, while the Condors managed 15 shots in the frame.

Neither team lit the lamp in the middle stanza. The Condors out-shot the Salmon Kings 14-11 in the period while killing off a trio of Victoria power plays.

In the third frame, Bakersfield extended the lead. Goulet netted his second of the night at 5:21, knocking in a rebound of a Menei shot. Victoria kept up the pressure late, and pulled the goaltender while on a 5-on-3 power play, and scored two power play tallies to make a game of it. RW Wes Goldie scored both power play goals for Victoria, who couldn't get the equalizer. The Salmon Kings finished the period with a 23-8 shot advantage and a 43-37 lead overall.
