Frechette, Salvis, Michel all returning to Condorstown
Three rookies from last season bring Bakersfield's roster to eight players

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, announced today they have agreed to terms with D Martin Frechette, C Ryan Salvis and F Tylor Michel. The announcement was made by Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond.

Frechette (freh-SHEHT), 22, finished with the third-highest point total among Condors defensemen last season, with 26 (all assists). He recorded 12 assists in the final 15 games of the season after being acquired from Utah on March 5 at the trade deadline. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2003-07, and closed out his junior career with an impressive 73-point campaign in 2006-07, when he recorded 23 goals and 50 assists. Last season he was under contract to the New York Islanders American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Salvis (SAL-vihs), 24, joined the Condors at the end of the season after concluding his third college campaign at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. He recorded a pair of assists in four regular season contests, and had two goals in six playoff games against Victoria. He scored the game-tying goal in the Condors Game 5 victory at home, and also lit the lamp in Game 6 in Victoria. Salvis played four seasons in the QMJHL with Moncton prior to attending SFX.

Michel (MIH-shehl), 24, signed with the Condors on March 27 and appeared in the final four games of the regular season. He registered an assist in each of his first two professional games, and also played in all six playoff games for Bakersfield. The Sudbury, Ontario native played four seasons at Wayne State University in Michigan, recording 22 points (7g-15a) in 37 games during his senior season. Both Salvis and Michel qualify as rookies this season as well.

"The thing that all three of these players have in common is that they each came to us at the end of the season and had an impact in their own way," said Raymond. "They each made us a better hockey team, and they have earned a chance to come back and play for us. We're very happy to have them back because they each fulfill a special role on our hockey team."

Frechette, Salvis and Michel join D Tyler Scott, F Dale Reinhardt, F Liam Huculak, C Dave Bonk and C Dan Rudisuela on the 2008-09 roster.
