Reign shut out Condors, 2-0
First-place showdown against the Steelheads next week in Idaho

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (30-19-4-1, 65pts) were shut out by the Ontario Reign (24-25-3-4, 55pts) 2-0, Sunday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena. G Curtis Darling stopped all 20 Condors shots he faced.

Ontario opened the scoring just 1:55 into the game. RW Tony Voce scored his 19th of the season on the power play. That was all the scoring in the period, with Ontario holding a 9-6 lead in shots.

The second period was scoreless, but did not lack excitement. D Eric Regan dropped the mitts with D Brian Kilburg early in the period. Regan was assessed a game misconduct on the play, due to his jersey fight strap not being tied down. Bakersfield out-shot Ontario 8-7 in the middle frame.

The Condors pressed for their first goal of the game, but it was Ontario, who scored next. RW Mike Howe converted a Reign rush for a 2-0 lead with 6:24 left in the third period. The Condors had a late two-man advantage and pulled G J.P Levasseur for an extra-attacker, but could not push one past the goal line. Bakersfield finished the game 0-for-7 on the power play, while Ontario scored once on their five tries.
