Stockton shuts out Bakersfield 2-0
Condors return home next weekend

 
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (28-17-4-1, 61pts) could not solve G Andrew Perugini, losing 2-0 to the Stockton Thunder (24-18-2-6, 56pts) in front of 5,354 fans at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night.

 

Following th pielmeiereir 5-4 shootout game on Friday, when goals came fast and furious, Saturday was a defensive showdown. Neither G Timo Pielmeier nor Perugini surrendered a goal in the first period. The Condors out-shot Stockton 12-10 through the first 20 minutes.
 
In the second period, RW James Bates took advantage of a turnover and snapped the puck by Pielmeier at 7:04 for a 1-0 Stockton lead. The Condors out-shot Stockton 14-7 in the middle frame.

C Oren Eizenman increased Stockton's lead to 2-0 on a goal with 9:00 left in the third period. The Condors pressed, pulling Pielmeier with 2:15 left in the game. Bakersfield failed to push one by Perugini, who earned his third shutout of the season. Bakersfield out-shot Stockton 45-26 in the game.

Notes from the Nest:
The Condors were shut out for the fourth time this season... Stockton went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Bakersfield went 0-for-3... The Condors registered at least 40 shots for the eighth time this season and third game in a row... Three Stars: 1. Andrew Perugini (STK); 2. James Bates (STK); 3. Oren Eizenman (STK).
 
ON THE DOCKET:

The Condors head to Ontario Sunday afternoon to wrap up their three-game weekend with a 5 p.m. contest against the Reign. They return home next Friday and Saturday for a two-game series against the Victoria Salmon Kings.

 
Friday's game features a visit from NFL QB and Condorstown native David Carr, sponsored by Bright House Networks, KERI 1410 AM and Junior Condors. He will sign autographs and pose for pictures throughout the night, and after the game he will speak to fans about his faith and the role it has played in his career successes. On Saturday, the amazing Quick Change returns by popular demand to perform their remarkable rapid clothes-changing act during the intermissions. Quick Change appears courtesy of ABC23 and KERN 1180. Doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m. both nights.
