Condors introduce Mercy & Memorial Hospitals as presenting sponsor
Partnership agreement begins in 2008-09

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, proud affiliate of the 2007 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks, have announced that Mercy & Memorial Hospitals will serve as the team's presenting sponsor in 2008-09. The agreement will last five years, through the 2012-2013 campaign.

Mercy & Memorial Hospitals, member of Catholic Healthcare West, is a longtime Condors business partner, dating back to the 2004-05 season. Their status as presenting sponsor will include home ice naming rights, as well as partnering up with many community events, including fundraisers, school programs, the inflatable slap shot game and more.

"We are excited to continue our relationship with the Condors," said Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield President Russell Judd. "Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield is proud to work with an organization that brings our community together the way the Condors do. It's a great opportunity to help to build a stronger Bakersfield.

"We're excited to have Mercy & Memorial Hospitals on board for this unique partnership opportunity," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "They are a company that shares our commitment to the community and their name will become even more synonymous with Condors hockey this season."

Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield is located at 2215 Truxtun Avenue, and has been at its current location since 1913. In addition to being known for its bariatrics program and urology services, Mercy Hospital's goal is to significantly increase the services delivered for cancer treatment in Kern County.

The Florence R. Wheeler Cancer Center continues to expand and will have a new site in 2009 on the Mercy Southwest campus (at 400 Old River Road) to host their comprehensive cancer program. Visit their website at http://www.mercybakersfield.org/.

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is located at 420 34th Street in Bakersfield, and has served Kern County since 1956. Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), headquartered in San Francisco, is a system of 41 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada. The Condors have grown into the top family entertainment outlet in Bakersfield, serving as a unique vehicle for area businesses to build their brand and connect with customers. Centered around a commitment to the community while being recognized with numerous honors, including back-to- back "Beautiful Bakersfield" humanitarian awards, the Condors have developed a presence in Kern County that is unmatched. This past season, the club drew the 2 millionth fan in team history and brought in over $433,000 in cash, goods and services to local organizations in need.
