LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Wranglers (9-11-1-3, 22pts) scored four second period goals and knocked off the Bakersfield Condors (7-17-1-2, 17pts) 5-1 at the Midnight Game inside Orleans Arena.
Las Vegas killed off a five-on-three power play in the first period and then got a power-play goal of their own at 18:35 when F Chris Francis tucked in a rebound past G Scott Greenham. It gave the Wranglers a 1-0 lead after one period of play. The Condors were outshot, 13-9.
The Wranglers exploded in the second period with four goals, three coming off the stick of newly acquired F Scott Pitt. The other tally came from F Sean Wiles to increase the Las Vegas lead to 5-0. Bakersfield was outshot by a 15-6 margin.
Bakersfield broke the shutout with a third period goal from F Tyler Brenner as he deflected a D Francis Meilleur shot past G Mark Owuya at 8:32. It would be the lone Condors goal as they fell, 5-1.

Condors return home after Christmas
The Condors continue their four-game road trip in Colorado on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:10 p.m. each night. They return home to host Stockton on Thursday, Dec. 27 for Boomtown Bakersfield, and Friday, Dec. 28 for Voodoo Doll Giveaway, sponsored by My 45 and 97.3 JACK FM.
Saturday, Dec. 29 against Idaho is Jake Varner Night, where the team will honor the Condorstown Gold Medalist and also don special jerseys in a Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle and Auction.
