Condors send Trupp to Alaska for Skelly, Haltigin

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. The Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach Matt O’Dette today announced that F Evan Trupp has been dealt to the Alaska Aces in exchange for F Shawn Skelly and D Chris Haltigin.

Skelly, 26, burst onto the ECHL scene with the Aces after starting the season as a point-per-game player in the Southern Professional Hockey League. After posting 17 goals and 30 points in 31 games in the SPHL, he earned a contract with the Aces, where he continued to produce. Skelly notched seven goals and 14 points in just 19 games, and his +10 ranks fourth on the Aces. The 5-10, 190-pound winger had 20 goals and 46 points in 52 games with the SPHL’s Mississippi Surge last season as well, his first in the pro ranks, and he dominated the D-III college ranks, posting 229 points with 102 goals in 113 career games.

Haltigin (HALL-ti-gin), 25, is in his rookie campaign and has 11 points (3g-8a) in 46 games, with a +1 and just 18 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 205-pound blueliner played four seasons collegiately at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he twice cracked the 20-point barrier and also posted an 11-goal campaign as a sophomore, ranking 6th in the entire nation for goals by a defenseman. He was named RIT’s best defenseman his senior season.

Trupp put up 27 points (5g-22a) in 60 games.
