All-Stars, TV Stars, Local Stars, and Cereal Bowls – the All-Star Classic is here!

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, welcome the league’s All-Stars to Rabobank Arena for the ECHL All-Star Classic, Skills Competition, Hall of Fame Luncheon, and Fan Fest tonight and tomorrow.

The Fan Fest takes place tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center from 6 -9 p.m., Fan Festpresented by Bank of the Sierra. The Fan Fest features food from some of Bakersfield’s best restaurants including Akira Japanese Restaurant, Caesar’s Italian Delicatessen, Cold Stone Creamery, Goose Loonies Tavern & Grill, Jacalito Grill, Red Robin and Wool Growers. Players from the All-Star team and the Bakersfield Condors will be there, and fans can hang out with the players. The Stanley Cup and Kelly Cup will also be on display, and fans can take pictures with both trophies. Advanced tickets, which included an All-Star hat, food vouchers and other prizes, are sold out. However, Condors fans can still attend the event and enjoy the festivities free of charge.

The events resume on Wednesday, with the Hall of Fame Lunch, presented by the Bakersfield Convention and Visitors Bureau and BFL Canada. Dave Poulin, who is a former NHL Hall of FameAll-Star and current Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be the Keynote Speaker for the event. The ECHL All-Star Classic is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm., doors will be open at 5:30 p.m. The first 2,000 kids age 12 and under wil l receive All-Star Cereal Bowls. All fans in attendance will also get Condors All-Star Posters, and everyone also receives a free All-Star Game Program.

The Skills Competition is presented by CCM and Mercy and Memorial Hospitals. Players will take the ice at 6:05 p.m, and the Skills Competition will begin at 6:15 p.m. All-Star Classic LogoDuring pregame, the players will take part in the Fastest Skater, Accuracy Shooting, and King of the Shootout. The Hardest Shot competition will be held during the first intermission.

Prior to the start of the game, players from the Bakersfield Dragons Youth Hockey Organization will take the ice with the Condors and the All-Stars for the starting lineups introduction. Also, various youths of Kern County including members of local sports teams will take the ice for player introductions.

Kevin ConnollyKevin Connolly, who is best known for his role as “E” in the HBO  Series “Entourage, will be in attendance at the game.Connolly and World Series Pitcher Colby Lewis will shoot goals during the second intermission. Fans may enter their name in a raffle at the game to win a meet and get a photo taken with Connolly which will take place during the second intermission. Raffle tickets will also be sold to win several entourage items including a set visit, autographed poster, and an All-Star Jersey signed by Connolly and Colby. All money raised from the shootout and raffle will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Stanley Cup and Kelly Cup will be on display at the Condors Photo Booth during the game. Fans can get their pictures taken with the sports world’s most iconic trophy!

The Condors will hit the road following the All-Star Classic as they head to Alaska to take on the Aces for a three-in-three series. Friday and Saturday’s games begin at 8:15, on Sunday the puck drops at 6:05.

The ECHL All-Star Classic is going to be televised nationwide, and will be available in over 110 million homes.
