Former Condor Ken Baker in town for book signing!
Former Condors G Ken Baker and author – now chief news correspondent for E! News – will be in Bakersfield Friday, Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, signing copies of his new book Fan Girl. Anyone who brings a signed copy of the book to the Condors game tonight can receive a free Condors hockey glove mug and a Condors bookmark. Bring the book to the customer service table to the left of the main Rabobank Arena doors to claim your gifts.
Baker spent the entire 2001-02 season with the team, chronicling his attempts at becoming a professional hockey player after rebounding from the physical turmoil of a brain tumor, in his book They Don’t Play Hockey in Heaven.
The novel Fan Girl revolves around a character from Bakersfield, and the city figures extensively in the story line.
