Comments: So I brought my two cans of food and received my voucher, expecting to pay $1 for my ticket. Then the girl behind the glass informs me that I would have to pay an additional $1 “Box Office Fee.” I know it’s only a dollar, but are you kidding me? There was nothing about paying an additional fee. Then, again, you may have already heard this complaint.
Reply: Yes, we have. About a thousand times. Did you go to the Monster Truck show last weekend? If so, you paid an arena fee. How about a concert in the last several years? If so, then you paid an arena fee. It’s a $1 arena fee, which helps them cover their costs of operating our facility. It’s basically a tax. It’s on all of our walk-up ticket purchases this season (season ticket and group purchases are exempt from the service fee).
It was still a $2 ticket to see a professional hockey game and hopefully be entertained for almost three hours. We also collected some canned goods to help the Food Bank continue to do good work for our community.
