Tremblay scores twice in third period, but Condors fall late in Ontario, 4-2
Ontario found the game’s first goal when C Mario Lamoureux found F Brady Calla on the doorstep from behind the net to make it 1-0 Reign at the 5:43 mark. The Reign extended their lead to a 2-0 margin when a back door pass from F Colton Yellow Horn on the power play found the stick of F Kyle Kraemer who just beat Greenham at 11:44. Greenham would get hurt minutes later, left the game, and was replaced by G Brian Stewart. The Condors were outshot, 11-3.
Bakersfield showed their resiliency in the third period and equalized before the midway point. C Nicholas Tremblay went backhand to forehand past Reign G Chris Carrozzi to cut the deficit in half at 2-1, 7:01 into the frame. Tremblay tied the game at 2-2 minutes later at 9:43 after a great tandem effort from LW Francis Verreault and RW Scott Freeman. However, the Reign got consistent offensive zone pressure and eventually broke through with the eventual game-winner as F Derek Couture snapped one past Stewart with just under three minutes remaining to make it 3-2. The Reign tacked on an empty-netter late and took the win, 4-2.
