Kremyr, Currie, and Little agree to terms

CONDORSTOWN, Calif.– The Bakersfield Condors, owned by the Edmonton Oilers, announced today that the team has agreed to terms with LW Jordan KremyrC Josh Currie, and rookie F Sean Little for the upcoming 2014-15 season. Bakersfield’s training camp roster now features 10 players (5 F, 5 D) with more additions expected every week leading up to training camp. The team’s first on-ice session will be Fri. October 3.

KREMYR – (krem – urr) – 6’0″, 180 lbs., Cloverdale, British Columbia, 28 years old

  • Has played 134 ECHL games over three seasons, all with Alaska, where he registered 56points (28g-28a)
  • Last season, he earned a call-up to the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Abbotsford Heat where he played 16 games
  • Led the Aces in rookie goal-scoring with 14 tallies in 2011-12 and was second in points with 24 in 52 games
  • Played 104 games over four seasons at Providence College where he notched 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points

“I did not anticipate Bakersfield as a place I would sign this summer, but after talking with the coaching staff, former players, and learning about the organization, I jumped at the opportunity,” Kremyr said. “My goal is to play at the highest level possible. Once you get a taste of the AHL, it is tough to drop down and makes me more determined to get back up. I’m a hard worker and am a reliable, two-way player that wants to lead by example with my effort every night.”

CURRIE – 5’11”, 188 lbs., Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, 21 years old

  • Was under AHL contract with the Phoneix Coyotes’ organization in 2013-14 and was assignedto Gwinnett where he scored 15 goals and added 16 assists for 31 points in 70 games
  • In 2012-13, he was second in scoring (third overall in the league) for the Prince Edward Island Rocket of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with 104 points (49g-55a) in 68 games
  • Played 237 games over four seasons for the Rocket with 97 goals, 88 assists, and 185 points
“I’m looking at this season in Bakersfield as a fresh start for me,” Currie said. “I want to build off the experience and season I had last year. I was able to learn the expectations of being a pro and know that I need to focus as much defensively as offensively. It is nice to have a familiarity with J.F. from playing against his teams in junior and knowing what I can do.”
LITTLE – 5’10”, 185 lbs., Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, 23 years old

  • Played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin where he recorded 21 points (7g-14a) in117 games
  • During his junior season in 2012-13, scored the game-winning goal of the Hockey City Classic at Soldier Field against Minnesota and in the Final Five championship game against Colorado College and current Condor, Joe Marciano
  • Won a United States Hockey League (USHL) Clark Cup Championship in 2009-10 with the Green Bay Gamblers
  • Younger brother of 2013-14 Condors F Ryan Little
“Ryan had nothing but great things to say about his time in Bakersfield,” Little said. “Whatever I can do to help the team win is my goal for the season. I have a similar style to Ryan where I like to throw my weight around and bring energy every night.”
