Condors fall 3-1 to Utah
Close homestand with Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday
Bakersfield, Calif. – Two power play goals in the first seven minutes by the Utah Grizzleis (8-4-2-1, 19pts) doomed the Bakersfield Condors (7-9-1-0, 15pts) to a 3-1 loss on Wednesday night in front of 3,433 fans at Rabobank Arena.
The Condors got out to a rough start, as they were whistled for 3 penalties in the first seven minutes of the game, and the Grizzlies knocked home two goals. The first of those was scored at the 3:44 mark by F Tim Crowder, and it was followed up three minutes later by C Brett Parnham. The Condors were being outshot by a 9-2 at one point in the period, but managed to narrow the gap to 10-6 by the end of the frame.
Bakersfield cut the Grizzlies lead in half with a power play goal less than a minute into the second period. D J.F. David blasted a shot from the left point that slid past G J.P. Lameroux and into the net. The goal came just 54 seconds into the middle frame and was the only one scored in the period. The Condors trailed 2-1 after the second stanza.
The Grizzlies knocked home the next goal at the 4:14 mark of the third. A shot from D Matt Clarke hit traffic in front of the net, and C Marcus Carroll found the loose puck and stuffed it past G Peter Hirsch, putting the Grizzlies up 3-1. Utah locked down defensively in the third, allowing just 7 shots, and the Condors fell by the 3-1 score.

G Josh Tordjman served the fourth game of his six game suspension. He is eligible to return on Dec. 3… D Joey Ryan was released from his PTO with Oklahoma City (AHL). He played tonight and got into a second period fight…The first three goals of the night were all scored on the power play.
