Tordjman wins second straight Goaltender of the Week Award
Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that the ECHL has selected G Josh Tordjman as the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 20 – 26. It’s the second consecutive week for Tordjman claiming the honor. Also, the Houston Aeros (American Hockey League) have recalled RW Pascal Morency from the Condors.
Tordjman, 24, becomes just the fourth goaltender in the history of the award, dating back to the 1997-98 season, to win it in back-to-back weeks. He posted 35 saves in a thrilling 1-0 shutout victory on Sunday against the Stockton Thunder. The shutout ran his, and the team’s, winning streak to five games.
The Montreal native also backstopped the Condors to a victory on Monday night as well, running the team’s season-high win streak to six games. Tordjman has been between the pipes for each of the games during the streak, which has vaulted the Condors into a tie with the Thunder for second place in the Pacific Division.
Tordjman is now 10-8-1 on the season with a 2.71 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. Among ECHL netminders he is 7th in wins and save percentage, tied for 4th with two shutouts, 6th in minutes played and 4th in saves.
Morency recalled by Houston
The Houston Aeros today recalled RW Pascal Morency from the Condors. He was activated from injured reserve today by Bakersfield. Morency, 28, has spent two separate stints on the IR while with the Condors, skating in just 12 of the team’s 28 games. Despite this, he ranks tied for third on the club with eight goals and is second with 57 penalty minutes. Houston’s next game is Wednesday in Milwaukee.

The Condors embark on a four-game road trip this week that will take them to three different cities, starting with Utah on Wednesday night (6:05 p.m. PT).
