OILERS RECALL SIMPSON ON EMERGENCY BASIS
The Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Dillon Simpson from the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Bakersfield Condors on an emergency basis.
Simpson, 25, has appeared in 56 games with Bakersfield this season, posting 17 points (4G, 13A) and 16 penalty minutes. He leads all Condors defencemen in points (17) and games (56).
The 6’2″, 195-pound blueliner, has appeared in 237 career AHL games, accumulating 65 points (14G, 51A) and 76 penalty minutes.
The Edmonton, Alberta native has played in three career NHL games with the Oilers, posting two penalty minutes.
Simpson was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round, 92nd overall in the 2011 NHL Draft.
