Condors fall at home for first time since November, 6-3
Travel to division rival Stockton on Wednesday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. The Bakersfield Condors (18-15-1-0, 37pts) had a five-game home winning streak snapped at the hands of the Idaho Steelheads (15-15-2-5, 35pts) in front of 6,618 fans at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night.The loss also puts an end to the Condors four-game winning streak.

The Steelheads reversed their fortunes from a night earlier, striking twice in the opening period to lead 2-0. LW Cody Purves and F Kael Mouillierat both scored for the visitors. The Condors led 11-9 in Pascal Morencyshots, and G Brian Stewart received his first start for the Condors between the pipes.

Bakersfield rallied twice in a wild middle frame to tie it up. RW Pascal Morency scored twice in the span of 1:34 early in the second stanza. After an Idaho goal at 10:13 to regain the lead, Bakersfield again responded, with C Pete Zingoni blasting home a power play marker at 12:05 to make it 3-3.

The third period tie was finally broken up when D Steve Oleksy converted a power play by blasting a shot over the left shoulder of Stewart to give Idaho a 4-3 lead with 7:07 left in the game. The lead was increased to 5-3 at 17:20 when C Matt McKnight tallied his second of the year. F Aki Seitsonen added an empty-netter to give Idaho the 6-3 victory.

G Brian Stewart made his first appearance for Bakersfield making 31 saves… RW Pascal Morency became the third Condors forward to reach double digits in goals this season. He accomplished the feat in just 15 games… C Pete Zingoni scored for the second straight night and has scored in both games since returning to the Condors, and has 6 points in those two games… The loss tonight was the first for the Condors on home ice in 42 days, dating back to Nov. 27… Power plays: BAK: 1/4, IDH: 2/5… Three Stars: 1.
