GAME PREVIEW: Condors host Texas

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. –  The Bakersfield Condors host the Texas Stars at 7 p.m. on Dignity Health Home Ice at Rabobank Arena. Tonight is Patriotic Night with the team wearing specialty World War I Armistice Day Anniversary jerseys. Plus, tonight only, purchase up to two (per game ticket) Ethan Bear youth jerseys for just $5 each.

TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors meet the Texas Stars at home for the only time this season. Bakersfield will make a return trip to Cedar Park in January. Texas shifted to the Central Division this year, but was a member of the AHL’s Pacific Division for the past three seasons. Last season, the Condors were unbeaten in regulation against the Stars, going 3-0-3-0 and were 2-0-1-0 at home.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield scored the opening goal of the game, but the Stockton Heat rallied for a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night. C Josh Currie had two goals while RW Cameron Hebig had a season-high three assists to extend his points streak to four games.
Texas had a 3-2 lead in the first intermission, but could not hang on in a 5-3 loss at Ontario on Thursday. LW Adam Mascherin had a goal and an assist in addition to a game-high seven shots.

TEXAS TWO-STEP

The Condors host the Stars and San Antonio Rampage for the only times this weekend as the Texas twosome has moved to the Central Division. Last season, the Condors secured points in 11 of the 12 matchups with a combined 7-1-4-0 record. The team was unbeaten on home ice with a 4-0-2-0 combined record in the head-to-head meetings.

HEBIG LEADS THE WAY
Rookie RW Cameron Hebig paced the Condors in the month of October with nine points (4g-5a) in seven games. His four power-play goals are the most among rookies and he sits seventh in rookie scoring around the AHL.

GOAL DIFFERENTIAL

The Condors +7 goal differential is second best in the division and fifth in the Western Conference.

LW Tyler Benson has points in four straight games (5a)… RW Cameron Hebig has a four-game scoring streak (3g-3a). His six power-play points is 2nd among rookies in the AHL… D Caleb Jones has four assists in his last two games… The Condors power play is third overall in the AHL (28.1%) and second on home ice (38.9%, 7/18).

STARS NOTES
The Stars are the defending Western Conference Champions. They ultimately fell in the Calder Cup Finals in Game 7 in Toronto… RW Denis Gurianov has two game-winning goals and the leads the Stars in scoring with 10 points (6g-4a)… Rookie C Joel L’Esperance has five goals.
