Condors ink LW Guillaume Lefebvre
Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic and official affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, have announced today the signing of LW Guillaume Lefebvre (gee-OHM luh-FAVE). Lefebvre joins the team immediately and is expected to make his Condors debut on Wednesday.
The native of Amos, Quebec, comes to the Condors with a resume that includes 39 games in the National Hockey League with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Boston. Lefebvre also has skated in over 400 games in the American Hockey League in his 10-year career. The 29 year-old has 59g-72a-131pts and 851 penalty minutes in his AHL career. He was drafted out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in the seventh round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers.
Lefebvre started the 2010-11 season with HC Trinec in the Czech Extraliga but was sidelined by injury, and had not played in any games.
“It feels good to be here in Bakersfield in the nice California weather,” said Lefebvre. “I’m happy to be getting back to playing hockey, going to practice every day, being around the guys and everything. And I’m glad they’ve given me a chance to do that here.”
What Marty says:
“We’re happy to have a player of his character, especially with the injuries we’ve had and the player movement to and from the AHL. He’s going to be a very good player for us.”
Next home game is the ECHL All-Star Classic!
