TEDDY BEAR TOSS COUNT: 8,415

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced today that 8,415 stuffed animals were collected at the team’s 20th annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 8,497. The goal was scored by second year winger Joe Gambardella in the second period. All of the bears were collected and donated to the United Way of Kern County who distributed the bears to dozens of non-profit organizations in Kern County. All-time the Condors have donated 129,810 stuffed animals from the event alone.
“To see all of those teddy bears coming down was an unbelievable feeling,” Gambardella said. “For that amount of people to come out and support was really special. It’s nice to know that a goal can put smiles on kids faces year round.”
