CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors attempt to make franchise history with their 12th straight win tonight at 7 p.m. on Dignity Health Home Ice at Rabobank Arena. TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors play game two of a three-game homestand against the San Diego Gulls. Bakersfield has won 11 straight contests, tied for the most in the 21-year history of the organization at any level. It is matchup eight of the season between the two clubs, with the Condors securing a 6-2 win in San Diego in the latest meeting on January 19.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield moved to within a point of the division lead with a 3-1 victory over San Jose last night. LW Tyler Benson had a goal and assist as the Condors scored all three in the second period. LW Joe Gambardella and RW Josh Currie each scored as well. G Shane Starrett stopped 27 of 28 for his ninth consecutive victory.
The Gulls defeated the Ontario Reign on the road, 6-4, last night. RW Corey Tropp had three points (2g-1a) and C Chase De Leo scored twice for the Gulls. G Jeff Glass earned the win, stopping 28 of 32 in net.
JOE “GAME-WINNER”
LW Joe Gambardella scored the game-winner last night and has four game-winning goals during the Condors 11-game win streak. His nine-game point streak is tied for the longest in Condors AHL history with Rob Klinkhammer (9, 2017). His teammate RW Josh Currie has six on the season and is tied for second in the AHL in that category.
STARRETT SAVES
Individually, G Shane Starrett has won nine straight decisions and is now fourth in the AHL in goals-against average at 2.33. It is the longest individual winning streak by a Condors AHL netminder and the second longest streak ever in Bakersfield hockey history (Brian Stewart, ECHL, March 2011). Starrett is 10-1-3 in his last 14 decisions.

D Keegan Lowe has set a new career high in assists with 14 and tied his career high in points with 14 after an assist last night… G Shane Starrett has won nine straight decisions and has only allowed more than two goals on one occasion during that stretch… LW Tyler Benson is t-5th in the rookie scoring race with 36 points. He has goals in consecutive games… The Condors 70 goals in the second period is the most by any team in the AHL this season. They have a +21 goal differential in the second frame.
GULLS NOTES
This is game two of a season-long, six-game road trip for San Diego… The Gulls are 14-3-1 in their last 18 games… RW Troy Terry is tied for second among rookies in scoring with 40 points… San Diego is second in goals for per game at 3.64 a contest. They are 11-4-2-3 in one-goal contests.
