OILERS ASSIGN LAVOIE AND KEMP TO BAKERSFIELD

Lavoie is 2019 2nd round draft pick; Kemp represented USA at World Junior Championships

The Edmonton Oilers have reassigned F Raphael Lavoie and D Philip Kemp to the Bakersfield Condors.

Lavoie, 20, was drafted in the second round (#38 overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft by Edmonton. The Chambly, Quebec native turned pro with Vasby of the Swedish-HockeyAllsvenskan this year and had 45 points (23g-22a) in 51 games.

He played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with Halifax and Chicoutimi. In 217 games, he amassed 227 points (106g-121a). He helped lead the Mooseheads to the Memorial Cup Final where he led all skaters in the postseason with 20 goals in 23 games and finished second in scoring with 32 points.

On the international stage, he won a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championships.

Kemp, 22, played three seasons at Yale University (NCAA). With the Bulldogs he served as team captain and had 27 points (9g-18a) in 88 career games. He won a Silver Medal with Team USA at the 2019 World Junior Championships.

The Greenwich, Connecticut native also turned pro with Vasby this season and 10 points (3g-7a) in 32 games. He was drafted in the 7th round (#208 overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft by Edmonton.
