7th Annual Condors Hockey-Thon to take place Mar. 18 & 19
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced the 7th annual Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon will be held on Mar. 18 and 19 at Rabobank Arena and the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center. The event concludes with a Condors game on Mar. 19, sponsored by 29 Eyewitness News and KUZZ 107.9. Hockey-Thon will once again benefit Links for Life, a local breast cancer resource center.
Hockey-Thon is a 24+ hour hockey marathon that includes two Condors games, a silent auction, and an around-the-clock hockey-playing marathon for players of all ages and skill levels. There will also be a Legends Game featuring former Condors players and local hockey dignitaries at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 19 prior to the Condors game against the Ontario Reign.
Hockey-Thon originally began after former Fog and Condors defenseman Kevin Barrett lost his mother to breast cancer. In the previous six years over $234,000 has been raised through the event.
