GAME PREVIEW presented by Rodriguez & Associates

The Condors wrap up a seven-game homestand tonight with a 4-2 record entering the contest.

LAST TIME OUT

The fewest combined shots in a Condors AHL game did not disappoint as Bakersfield knocked off division-leading Texas, 2-1. James Hamblin scored an empty-netter in the third to make it 2-0, before a late Texas goal sealed the scoring. The Condors outshot the Stars 17-16.

BIG PICTURE

The Condors are 16-8-3 (.648) in their last 27 games.

2023: THE YEAR OF LAVOIE

Raphael Lavoie has 31 points (18g-13a) in 29 games in 2023. His 18 goals are the most by any AHL skater since Jan. 1. He had two assists on Wednesday, his 12th multi-point game of the year.

PICK’D UP 150

Wednesday’s win was the 150th in the AHL career of Calvin Pickard. It was the 15th time this season he has allowed two or fewer goals in a game. At 18-9-2, he is two wins shy of his fifth 20-win season in the AHL.

PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?!

With 14 games left in the regular season, the Condors sit in sixth in the Pacific Division, five points back of fifth place Ontario and nine points back of fourth-place Colorado.  Last season, 63 points secured a playoff berth while 84 points secured home ice advantage. The Condors currently have a max possible points of 88. If the playoffs started tonight, the Condors would travel to Abbotsford for a best-of-3 first round matchup.

Bakersfield is tied in regulation wins (26) with fourth place Colorado and has three more victories in regulation than Ontario.

HOME COOKIN’

The Condors wrap a seven-game homsetand tonight and will play eight of their final 14 games at home. Bakersfield is 10-2-2 in its last 14 home games.

LEADING THE WAY

Leading scorer Seth Griffith also leads the team in scoring since Feb. 1 with 18 points (5g-13a) in 17 games.

ON THE OTHER SIDE

The Condors get Henderson for the first time since Nov. 22 and will face the Silver Knights four times down the stretch. Bakersfield is 4-0 against Henderson this season and has scored at least three goals in each of the wins. The Silver Knights are 6-4-0 in their last 10, but lost their four games.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The Condors head to Henderson Saturday at 7 p.m. Catch the game on AM 800 Fox Sports Radio and AHLTV.
