GAME PREVIEW presented by Rodriguez & Associates
The Condors start a three-game homestand with the first of two against the Tucson Roadrunners.
LAST TIME OUT
Bakersfield fell behind early and never recovered in a 5-1 loss to the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Wednesday. Dylan Holloway (3rd) scored the lone goal for the Condors.
BIG PICTURE
The Condors are 19-11-3 (.621) in their last 33 games, good for third in the division over that stretch.
HOLLYWOOD
Dylan Holloway has goals in back-to-back games and three goals in four games with Bakersfield this season.
MARCHING ON
Justin Bailey has seven goals in the month to lead all Condors through 12 games. His 47 shots are also 13 more than any other Condor.
PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?!
With 8 games left in the regular season, the Condors are tied with Tucson for sixth in the division. The Condors have a game in hand on the Roadrunners and own the tiebreaker due to having four more regulation wins than tonight’s visitors.
Bakersfield begins the day five points back of fifth place Ontario, but they have a game in hand on the Reign. Abbotsford and Colorado are tied on points for third in the division, but the Eagles have a game in hand.
The Condors magic number to clinch a playoff berth is 9. That number goes down with points gained by the Condors or lost by San Jose, who are in Texas tonight.
HOME COOKIN’
The Condors have won four straight at home and are 12-2-2 in their last 16 home games. The team will play six of their final eight games at home including the two with Tucson this weekend.
TANGLING WITH TUCSON
Bakersfield is 2-3-1 this season against the Roadrunners and 1-0-1 at Mechanics Bank Arena. The last time these two teams met was January 31, a 7-3 victory for the Condors. Over the past five seasons, the Condors own a 15-7-3 record against the Roadrunners.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
It has been a balanced Condors offensive attack this season, but leading scorer Seth Griffith is now 16th in the AHL scoring race with 56 points (17g-39a) on the season.
ON THE OTHER SIDE
Tucson is 6-3-1 in its last 10, winning in overtime in San Diego on Wednesday. Michael Carcone leads the AHL with 77 points (30g-47a) in just 58 games. The Roadrunners magic number for a playoff berth is 10.
