GAME 1 RECAP

James Hamblin had a potential opening goal disallowed in the first period and Max Sasson scored twice in the second as Abbotsford took Game 1, 3-0.

HEAD TO HEAD

Bakersfield was 1-2-1 against Abbotsford this season, using three goaltenders over those four games. The Condors won the most recent matchup, 3-1 at home on March 22.

TOP LINE, TOP CHANCES

The line of Raphael Lavoie – James Hamblin – Seth Griffith generated the most on Wednesday, combining for eight of the team’s 21 shots.

THEY SAID IT…

Brad Malone on Game 2 “I don’t think our expectations have changed. You gotta be a pro. Get ready physically and mentally. Our season is on the line and obviously that brings a little more intensity and hunger. Put those two things together and I think the pressure moves to the side.”

LETHAL LAVOIE

Raphael Lavoie scored 25 goals in the regular season, third most for a Condors AHL player.

FEELING PHILP

Noah Philp led all team rookies with 19 goals on the year, including two in the season finale.

SEASON ON THE LINE

The Condors must win to force a Game 3 on Sunday. Bakersfield is 4-3 in AHL postseason elimination games and in 2021 rallied to win two straight against San Diego after dropping Game 1.

BACK IN THE POSTSEASON

This is the fourth consecutive postseason appearance for the Condors, who have won at least a playoff series in each of their other three trips.

WORKING OVERTIME

After losing their first-ever Calder Cup Playoffs overtime game (4OT v San Diego, 2019), the Condors have won six straight overtimes in the postseason.

SCOUTING ABBOTSFORD

Max Sasson, who recently signed a two-year NHL deal with the Canucks out of Western Michigan, scored twice on Wednesday in his Calder Cup Playoffs debut. Spencer Martin stopped all 21 shots for the shutout.
