Condors Season in Review, pt. III – individual honors
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors enjoyed a successful season on the ice in 2010-11, with many players making their mark on the league as well as the Condors record book. In Part III of our Season In Review, we take a look at some individual accomplishments from the Condors second consecutive Pacific Division Champion squad.
Two of the best goaltending seasons in Condors history came in 2010-11, starting with Minnesota Wild-assignee G Josh Tordjman, 
who recorded a shutout in his Condors debut on Oct. 22 in Utah. The veteran goalie proved to be a stabilizing force in the Condors cage, winning 16 games and claiming back-to-back ECHL Goaltender of the Week awards in December. He is one of only four goalies in league history to accomplish that feat, and he nearly made history with a third straight award, but finished runner-up instead.
Assigned to the club by the Philadelphia Flyers in early January, it took a few games for G Brian Stewart to come into form, but when he did, it was nothing but success for the rookie. After picking up several key wins in February, Stewart to
ok over full-time as the Condors number one when Tordjman was recalled to Houston in early March. The Burnaby, British Columbia, native reeled off 10 consecutive victories in the month, tying an eight year old Condors mark set by Kevin St. Pierre. His play solidified the Condors surge to the top of the Pacific Division standings.
After being named the ECHL’s Rookie of the Month for March, Stewart was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, compiling a 20-6-1 record in 29 appearances on the season. He led the ECHL with a .927 save percentage and was second with a 2.25 GAA. Stewart’s numbers were noteworthy in Condors history as well. His .929 save percentage and 2.20 GAA with Bakersfield (since he also played three games with Greenville, his combined ECHL totals were slightly different) were both rookie goalie records, breaking marks set by Yutaka Fukufuji in 2004-05.

rew Ianiero made a big impact on the Condors record books in his seventh season in Condorstown. On Dec. 4 in Toledo, he passed Paul Rosebush for the top spot in career games played, when he suited up for the 417th time in Condors history. He wrapped up the season with 460 games in his Condors career. Then on Mar. 25 he passed Steve Dowhy for the number two spot in Bakersfield history (including the Fog) in career assists, and finished the season with 250, just eight shy of Paul Willett’s team record.
He wasn’t the only player to move up the career lists in 2010-11. RW Stephane Goulet‘s 60 points brought his career total to 129 points as a Condor, placing him 12th in Condors history after just two seasons (just one behind Dan Currie). His 57 career goals is likewise 12th (one behind Kevin St. Jacques). Goulet also became the first Condor in 10 years to lead the team in goals 
and points in back-to-back seasons (Paul Willett, 1999-00 and 2000-01). The winger finished 20th in league scoring, 5th in shots on goal (237) and led the ECHL with three shootout game winning goals.
RW Erick Lizon finished 2nd in the league with 208 penalty minutes in 2010-11. He jumped up to 5th in team history with 412 career PIM, and became the first Condor to record back-to-back 200 PIM seasons. Paul Rosebush holds the record with 900 career PIM. Lizon also set a new Condors single-game record when he notched 40 PIM on Jan. 28 in Alaska, besting the old mark of 39 (set by Craig Martin, 2000-01).
On the blueline, D Erik Burgdoerfer turned in one of the finest seasons in team history for a rookie defenseman. His two goals on 
the season both served as game winners, and his +20 was the highest for a Condor since Guy Dupuis posted a +27 in 2004-05. He also became the first Condors rookie defenseman since 2002-03 to score a playoff goal.
D Evan Stoflet, in his second season in Condorstown, also moved up to 10th in Condors history in career games by a defenseman, with 116. In addition, only two d-men in Condors history have more career game winning goals than the three that Stoflet scored this season. D Tyler Gotto also got in on the game-winning goal craze, putting home three after being acquired in mid-season. Gotto and Stoflet both slide into a tie for 3rd in Condors history with their three game-winners.
Behind the bench, Head Coach Marty Raymond, the second-longest tenured coach in the ECHL, also passed Condors career milestones with his 250th victory and 500th game. In seven full seasons as head coach, Raymond has guided the team to 40 or more wins four times.
