Comments: Does the signing of Mr. Olver mean that the Condors may go independent versus having an affiliaiton since he is exellent with the college ranks in terms of recruiting and the fact that this league like the NHL is getting younger every year?

Reply: Not at all. The signing of John Olver to our hockey operations staff is completely independent of having an affiliation. And we expect to speak with several teams, including the Minnesota Wild, for working together in the 2011-12 season.

Most seasons, an ECHL club can only expect to get a handfull of affiliated players on the active roster – last season I don’t think we ever had more than four or five at any one particular time. That means Marty Raymond must actively recruit between 15 – 25 players throughout the season to play for the Condors. “J.O.” will help with that.
