IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors hosted the Idaho Steelheads for three games in Bakersfield and went 1-2-0 on the weekend. In their lone victory, the Condors came from three goals down to win 4-3 in overtime. Jimmy Martin tallied twice, his first professional goals, including the overtime game-winner. Alain Goulet scored in the final minute of regulation.
Stockton played twice in Las Vegas over the weekend, going 1-0-1-0. The Thunder lost Saturday’s contest 4-3 in overtime, surrendering a late third period tally before bouncing back in a shootout win on Sunday, 3-2.
MICHAEL GERGEN, THE FORWARD/DEFENSEMAN
Michael Gergen is a natural forward. However, with injuries and movement along the Condors blue line this season, the Hastings, MN native has played more games as a defenseman this season (8) than as a forward (5). Two of three goals this season have come as a defenseman.
RIVALRY RENEWED
Bakersfield and Stockton meet for the first time of the 13 meetings this season. The Central Valley rivalry will take on a new twist as Condors Head Coach Matt O’Dette faces the team he formerly captained and coached. Other Condors to have spent time in Stockton include G Bryan Pitton, LW Matt Marquardt, and RW Jesse Gimblett. Overall, the Condors record is strong against the Thunder, with a 34-18-3 mark. For games played in Bakersfield, the Condors are 17-9-1.
