Canned Food Drive & Half-Priced Beer Night on Tuesday

The Condors host the Utah Grizzlies in a key battle for playoff positioning. Bring two canned food items to the game for donation and get a voucher for a $1 ticket to the game, sponsored by My 45 and 92.1 Max FM. The canned goods will benefit the Golden Empire Gleaners.

TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors host the Utah Grizzlies tonight for the first time all season. It’s also the first of five meetings at Rabobank Arena in the next five weeks. Utah comes to town four times in the month of March, including for the final weekend of the regular season.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors took five out of a possible six points against the Stockton Thunder last weekend in a three-game series. After dropping Friday’s match in a shootout, Bakersfield took Saturday and Sunday’s games by a combined score of 9-3. The Condors are now 6-2-1 in their last nine games.

The Grizzlies have started their playoff push as well, winning five vs Utahof their last seven contests and escaping from the Mountain Division basement. They are coming off a three-game sweep of the Steelheads over the weekend, and split a four-game series in Las Vegas the previous week against the first-place Wranglers.

CONDORS NOTES
G Matt Keetley has started eight of the last nine games… D Josh Van Dyk has a point in six of his last seven games, and is one of only six rookie defensemen in Condors history to break the 20-point barrier… 12 of the Condors final 16 regular season games come against Mountain Division opponents… F Peter Boyd’s shorthanded goal Sunday was the 11th of the season for the Condors. The Condors record is 20 (2006-07).

GRIZZLIES NOTES
C Mitch Wahl, who has 15 goals in just 21 games with Utah, is a Seal Beach, Calif. native… The Grizzlies have five players with 100 or more penalty minutes, led by D Nick Tuzzolino’s 170 PIM… Wahl and F Paul McIlveen are the only two players on the Utah active roster with double-digit goal totals.
