Peter Boyd Named ECHL Player of the Week
The Condors’ captain helped lead the team to a 3-1-0 record on the week by amassing eight points (2g-6a) in the four games played.
After earning an assist in the team’s 3-2 loss to Utah on Wednesday, the left-winger went on to record multi-point games in the next three Condors victories. In Friday’s 5-2 win over the Grizzlies, he tallied a career-high three assists. In Saturday’s 4-3 home victory against Las Vegas he scored twice, before capping off the weekend with two assists in the team’s 4-3 win in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The Cambridge-Narrows, NB native ranks third on the Condors in scoring with 36 points (16g-20a) through 55 games played.
The 24-year old rookie played his collegiate hockey at Ohio State where he recorded 113 points (39g-74a) in 159 career games played prior to turning pro and appearing in 11 games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL) with one assist.
In other team news, G Matt Keetley has returned on loan from the Houston Aeros (AHL). In two games with the Aeros, Keetley was 1-1-0 with a 4.31 goals-against average and a .800 save percentage.
The Condors host the Colorado Eagles at 7 p.m. tomorrow for Jean Collection Night sponsored by Goodwill Industries. Fans who bring a new or slightly used pair of jeans can receive a $1 ticket to the game. High school and college students who present their current school I.D. at the box office can receive $1 lower level admission presented by 92.5 La Campesina.
In addition, the Condors are offering complimentary tickets for Condorstown’s unemployed. To receive up to four (4) tickets to the game, fans must present their notice of unemployment from the Employment Development Department of California at the box office. The offer is good for the remaining two Condors Wednesday home games. Box office hours are Monday through Friday 10-6 p.m. or on Saturdays from 10-4 p.m.
