Checking In With…#12 Tyler Helfrich

In this edition of “Checking In With…” we get a chance to hear what Calgary, Alberta native Tyler Helfrich has been up to this summer and see what other Condor he spent time with when he was in SoCal…

Hey Condorstown!

I’ve been home (in Calgary) for about a month now. After the season I went and spent some time in LA with Calds (Kyle Calder). While I was there, I got to see the Kings beat the Canucks in game 3 (of the first round). My dad flew down and met me there and we played some golf in LA and Palm Springs before making the 20 hour road trip home.

Since I’ve been back I’ve just been working, training and skating, getting ready for next season. My family has a place in Fairmont, British Columbia so this summer I plan on being out there for a few weekends.

Calgary is the home of the Calgary Stampede “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.” It’s a big country, cowboy, rodeo kind of thing and the city pretty much shuts down for it. I have a lot of friends coming in town for that.

Other than that I’m hoping the rest of summer flies by and looking forward to being back in Condorstown for the 2012 season.
