HOLTY’S BLOG: LIVE TONIGHT!
I am currently coming to you LIVE from the spacious breakfast bar/nook at the La Quinta Airport North Inn and Suites in lovely South San Francisco. The air is crisp, my Coke is cold, and we are ready for hockey.
In a few hours’ time, we’ll don the suits, grab a cup of coffee, and hop on the bus for the quick jaunt to Daly City, home of the San Francisco (don’t call us Daly City even though we’re in Daly City) Bulls. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
If you’ve followed the blog for the past few seasons, you know that the blog takes a hiatus during the season. WELL NOT THIS YEAR! Every Thursday, I’ll have something for you Condorstown. A story, a joke, some insight, SOMETHING! Heck, tell me what you want and I will deliver.
Again, I’ll remind you, it’s my blog and if I want to blog every Thursday, I will…
Who enjoyed Open House last night? What a great event. It would have been more enjoyable if the guy with the mic would have shut up and just handed out more free tacos, huh? Who does that guy think he is anyways?
Over the next two nights some guys will get into game shape against the Bulls and Stockton Thunder (tomorrow, 7:30 p.m.) while others will battle for a spot on the team. There are still 28 healthy bodies in the La Quinta right now. That makes for a crammed bus, extra hotel rooms, and plenty of decisions to be made. Especially when you consider the fact that Nicholas Tremblay, Kyle Haines, and Louke Oakley, who all figure to be on the opening night roster, are NOT here this week.
Tonight looks like the young crop will get a good look from the coaching staff, while tomorrow’s game seems like the veterans and more experienced players will take a crack at a preseason game.
We’ll tweet out the lines closer to game time tonight, but as far as goaltending goes, it will be Bunz and Karpowich splitting the game tonight, and then each getting a full preseason game either tomorrow or Sunday.
Enjoy the games this week, and we’ll see you on Sunday…
Oh, if you did not hear, we’re giving away two cemetery plots. Everyone is talking about it. Read the Yahoo! Sports Puck Daddy article: here.
Until next time Condorstown…
