CONDORS IN THE COMMUNITY: Hockey-Thon Starts Saturday; Condors raise $18,600 for Shrine Club

JERSEY AUCTION BRINGS IN BIG MONEY FOR LOCAL SHRINE CLUB:

 

On Friday night, the Condors held a Jersey Off Our Backs Auction.  Special 15th Anniversary Jerseys were worn during the Condors shootout win against Utah and were auctioned post-game for a grand total of $18,600 for the Petroleum Shrine Club.

 

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20:

Assistant Coach Kevin Barrett will appear onKGET 17 News at Sunrise at 5:50 a.m. to discuss the upcoming 9th Annual Hockey-Thon. Barrett started the Hockey-Thon in 2005 after losing his mother to inflamatory breast cancer. The event has raised more than $300,000 to date.

 

 

THURSDAY, MARCH 21:

 

There will be no Condors Insider this week due to to March Madness being broadcast on Fox Sports 970. Broadcasting duo Holt & Bartl will return with Condors inside information next week!

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 22:
Condors Media Relations & Broadcasting Manager Ryan Holt will  be a guest on The New Groove 99.3 FM on at 9 a.m.
Director of Community Relations Mikie Barrett, along with mascot Colonel Claw’d will take part in the Bessie Owens Primary School state testing pep rally at 1:30 p.m. Bessie Owens is located at 815 Potomac Ave in Bakersfield.
CONDORS HOME GAME:

The Bakersfield Condors return to Dignity Health Mercy & Memorial home ice to take on the Las Vegas Wanglers. The first 2,000 fans, 17 & under, will receive a Condors mohawk and all advertisers receive complimentary tickets to tonight’s game. Doors open at 6 p.m. the puck drops at 7 p.m. Groups of 10 or more receive discounted tickets. For more information, call the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825).

 

SATURDAY, MARCH 23:

The Condors will take part in the 4th Annual Healthy Bakersfield Expo from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Rabobank Theater. The Expo brings together industry leaders and companies to provide Kern County residents a one-stop-shop to learn about the ever- changing health and fitness industry. This event will feature vendors offering exciting new products, health screenings, financial planning, assisted living, shopping, recreation and more.

 

The 9th Annual Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon Kicks Off with a party in the parking lot at SJCH Ice Sports Center from 1-3 p.m.  You don’t have to play hockey to enjoy the festivities – games will be set up for free and food will be available for purchase.  If you are interested in taking part in the Hockey-Thon, players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate and help raise funds for Links for Life, a local breast cancer resource center. SUNDAY, MARCH 24:

 

On Sunday, March 24, the Hockey-Thon wraps up with an alumni game presented by 29 Eyewitness News and KUZZ 107.9 preceding the Condors home game. At 3 p.m., fans can see former Condor favorites – Andrew Ianiero, Glen Mears, Liam Huculak, Steve Dowhy, Scott Hay, Kevin Barrett, and more take to the ice followed by the current Condors taking on the San Francisco Bulls at 5 p.m. Doors open at 2:45 p.m. for the alumni game at 3 p.m. with the Condors game immediately after at 5 p.m. Call 324-PUCK (7825) for more info.

 

 

KIDS CLUB MEET THE TEAM PARTY – MARCH 26:

Members of the Condors Kids Club are invited to attend the exclusive Meet the Team Party at Rollerama West on Tuesday, March 26 from 6-8 p.m.  Members will enjoy skating with the team, pizza, and fun prizes.
