CONDORS IN THE COMMUNITY: Recycle, Celebrate Day for Kids, & Support Teen Drivers

Condors make the most of the short time remaining in the off-season by attending a host of events this weekend. Colonel Claw’d will take part in a community recycling event, Day for Kids, and support Bakersfield’s newest drivers with State Farm on Saturday before joining the Mexican Independence Celebration & 18th Annual Consumer Trade show on Sunday.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11:

Condors broadcaster Kevin Bartl hits the airwaves for his weekly appearance on the Scott Cox Show at 5 p.m. on KERN News Talk 1180.  With less than a month to go until training camp opens, now if the time to tune in for behind the scenes news and insights about the team and front office.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12:
Condors front office members Jose Rivera and Brad Urbani will attend the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce September Business Mixer being held at the Marriott Convention Center located at 801 Truxtun Ave. The event takes place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and features food, drinks & prizes. You do not need to be a KCHCC member to attend.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15:

10 a.m.

Colonel Claw’d gets in on the green movement at the Third Annual Community Recycling Day hosted by Kern Schools Federal Credit Union.
From 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., you can bring personal shred, recycling and eWaste to the KSFCU Administrative Offices Parking Lot. Habitat for Humanity will also be there collecting gently used household items. While there, you can sign up for eStatements and check out fuel efficient vehicles on display.

11 a.m.

Director of Community Relations, Mikie Barrett, joins Colonel Claw’d in celebrating the Boys and Girls Club Day for Kids at the Armstrong Youth Center, 801 Niles Street.  This annual event invites parents, children and community members to spend time together. Created as a day to foster relationships between adults and children, the mission of BGC Day for Kids is to establish a day to celebrate and honor American children through the gift of meaningful time.

1 p.m.

The Bakersfield Condors are excited to join StateFarm in supporting local teens who are learning to drive or are new drivers. Celebrate My Drive is a national event with celebrations going on coast to coast. In Bakersfield, teens can join Colonel Claw’d and earn a free ticket to the Condors preseason game on October 5th by attending the event at 900 Old River Road.

 

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16:

The KCHCC, Univison and PG&E host the Mexican Independence Celebration & 18th Annual & Consumer Trade Show at Stramler Park, 3805 Chester,  from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m.  The event features food, live music, kids activities and even a salsa contest! Colonel Claw’d will join the festivities at 1 p.m.
