CONDORS IN THE COMMUNITY: STAR and Fitness Testing, Relay for Life, and Festival of Beers This Week

It’s a big week for schools in Condorstown as STAR testing begins for many students in the area. Baby Cal and Condors staff will head to Sandrini elementary from 4-5 p.m. for an assembly to help congratulate the students on their hard work. The school is located at 4100 Alum Ave.
TUESDAY APR. 24:
Condors Broadcaster Kevin Bartl will make his weekly appearance on the Scott Cox Show at 5 p.m. Tune into KERN Radio 1180 AM on your drive home to hear what he and Scott have to say on a wide variety of topics which is sure to include hockey talk.
FRIDAY APR. 27:
Nobody is as fit as the Condors and Baby Cal will prove it at Fairview Elementary from 1:30-2 p.m. for a 5th grade fitness testing event. The school is located at 425 E. Fairview Road. Baby Cal is looking forward to showing the students how to do their different exercises in preparation for their fitness tests.
SATURDAY APR. 28:
Colonel Claw’d and Condors staff will head to the YMCA for their Healthy Kids Day from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The ‘Y’ is located at 5880 District Blvd. The Colonel will entertain the kids there and play games.
Baby Cal will make the flight out to Wasco High School for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The school is located at 1900 7th Street in Wasco. Condors staff will bring the always popular slapshot booth as well for the kids to try their hand at beating the goalie when they take a break from walking.
Condors staff will have a booth at the Active 20/30 Club’s Festival of Beers from 1-5 p.m. at Stramler Park. The park is located at 3805 Chester Ave. The staff, including sales representatives Izzy Corrales, Matt Friedman, and Josh Huber along with broadcaster Ryan Holt, will bring the slapshot booth to entertain the crowd and will have information on ticket packages for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Sales representative Peter Van Dame will be making the rounds as well as a member of the Active 20/30 Club, raising money for charitable initiatives.
Colonel Claw’d and Condors staff conclude the day over at the Wounded Heroes Spring Social from 5-7 p.m. at the Cal State University-Bakersfield Outdoor Ampitheatre. The campus is located at 9001 Stockdale Highway. The slapshot booth will allow guests to try their hand at hockey, the staff will mingle with patrons, and as always the Colonel will entertain everyone with some crazy antics.

Ticket plans for the 2012-13 season are on sale now. Any new ticket package purchased in the month of April will receive free tickets to the Gaslight Melodrama hit show“Go!
