Condors in the Community: Teddy Bear Toss collects 6,296

Bakersfield, Calif.The Bakersfield Condors hosted the 12th Annual Teddy Bear Toss at this past Saturday Night’s game. The Condors have partnered with the United Way of Kern to donate the teddy bears to 47 local non-profit organizations this season. The United Way completed its Teddy Bear Toss packing and distributing at the Society for Disabled Children’s Hall early this morning.

Condors F Slava Trukhno, who scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal on Saturday, and Colonel Claw’d were on hand to help with the tagging COlTEdand bagging and also appeared on 29 Eyewitness News, who covered the counting event. A crowd of 8,327 was on hand to toss the stuffed animals on the ice, marking the tenth largest crowd in Condors history. 6,296 bears were collected this year, bringing the 12 year total to 66,840 bears in Condors history. Tuesday, Nov. 30

Colonel Claw’d will be at Colonel Nichols Elementary School located at 3401 Renegade Avenue at 11:15 a.m. to visit the kids as they celebrate the end of a great fundraiser with the Condors. The students will be treated to a pizza party for their ticket sales achievements.

Friday, Dec. 3

Baby Cal will be at Olive Drive Elementary School located at 7800 Darrin Avenue at 8:45 a.m. to pump up the students as they are kicking off a fundraiser with the Condors.

Saturday, Dec. 4

The Condors will be taking a trip to Frazier Park this Saturday evening to participate in the Fantasy of Lights ‘It’s a Cartoon Christmas” Holiday Faire and Parade taking place in downtown Frazier Park. Colonel Claw’d will be participating in the parade along with other local business. The Parade will be from 12 to 6 p.m.

The Condors will be back home on December 10 and 11 to play the Stockton Thunder and Ontario Reign, respectively. Friday, Dec. 10 is Makeover Giveaway Night, sponsored by Bright House Networks and Spa Euphoria. On Saturday, the Condors are holding the All-Star Classic Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle and Auction, courtesy of ABC23, 96.5 Max FM, and American Business Machines. game-worn jerseys previewing the ECHL All-Star Classic to be held in Bakersfield next month, will be auctioned off after the game, plus everyone in attendance has a chance to win one of five to be given away!  All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Petroleum Shrine Club.
